FIAT 500L 1.3 MultiJet of 2018 - DPF and engine oil warning light
Good morning, today I present a case that was brought to our attention by Marco of MOTOR SYSTEM in Borgomanero:
'The car came into the workshop with the DPF light and engine oil light on in the ignition.
Oil pressure under light acceleration drops to 0.4 bar. When accelerating a little harder, it rises to 3 bar and more. The behaviour at idle and under full load is correct, only during intermediate acceleration does the fault occur.
The engine control unit map had previously been changed on the car for other reasons.
In addition, the solenoid valve of the V-DOP variable displacement oil pump was changed, but without success."
Remember that the solenoid valve of the oil pump is of the normally closed ON/OFF type, controlled by the engine control unit. When not energised, it reaches a maximum pressure of 5.5 bar. When powered, 2 bar.
"Correct operation at full throttle, with the associated variable oil pressure modulation, was leading us 'astray' by attributing the trouble to possible interference due to engine ECU file tweaking.
But after the DPF filter was flushed, the previous problem emerged: a valve inside the oil cooler had blocked shortly before the car went into total recovery due to DPF blockage.
Now the pressures monitored at the pressure gauge are regular and reach 5 bar during acceleration at full load and settle at 1.6 bar at idle."
Thanking Marco for sharing his experience with us, on behalf of the Technical Help Desk team, I wish you good work
