Departure Warning Plus and automatic braking Forward Collision Warning Plus (FCW+).

The system in question is now commonplace in the latest generation of cars and is highly appreciated by discerning drivers.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-2741 alignleft" 'Technical Pills' to introduce you to the philosophy of operation, but we refer you to our full training course for details and insights.

In the case of the Jeep Renegade, if it is detected that the car tends to drift out of its lane, without the indicator being engaged, the driver can be warned by means of: alerts on the dashboard or actual steering correction.

Thanks to the HALF camera module, located on top of the windscreen, the system is able to detect the demarcation lines of the lane in which the car is travelling.

The correction level can be adjusted as desired by the driver via the settings on the audio system.

The function is active at speeds above 60 km/h and up to 180 km/h and can still be deactivated, should the driver wish, via a button on the centre console.

The system also includes the management of Forward Collision Warning Plus (FCW+), which, thanks to its interaction with radar ACC located at the front of the vehicle, allows automatic braking management in the event of an emergency.

There is also an interesting and useful function for the automatic high beam management, which consists of switching the high beam to low beam.

The function is activated by the driver via the light control.

This is the case if the camera detects the headlights of an oncoming vehicle, or a vehicle in front of the car, or an external light source (daytime running lights, street lighting), the system in these cases converts high beam to low beam.

The function is automatically deactivated when the speed is below 20 km/h.

Important: the camera must be re-calibrated in case it is replaced or the windscreen is replaced.

The calibration operation can be carried out with our diagnostic equipment, as described below:

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-2776
