TURBOCHARGER PRESSURE SENSORThe pressure read by the sensor is out of range: it is too high compared to the mapped pressure, so the CCM sets the recovery strategy to safeguard the engine.

2. TURBOCHARGER VARIABLE GEOMETRYThe turbocharger blades may get stuck in a specific position during actuation, e.g. due to sludge build-up; the CCM sets the recovery strategy to safeguard the engine.

3. WESTGATE VALVEThe valve remains blocked and consequently does not allow the discharge of excess pressure generated by the turbocharger; the CCM sets the recovery strategy to safeguard the engine.

Solution adopted

After Preliminary Checks 1 and 2, the workshop tech noticed that at a manual prompt the westgate always remained open even when the engine was switched off; he then checked that this was not a solvable problem on the existing valve, but with negative results.

Once the wastgate was replaced, the problem no longer occurred: case solved!

We look forward to the next case... good work.

Anomaly cases As anticipated, below are some real cases of anomalies that happened to your colleagues in the network [...].

[26
