Dear customers, as we had anticipated, with the entry into force of law No. 224\/2012, which regulates the motor vehicle repair sector, the professional qualifications of motor mechanics and electricians have been abolished and are merged under the now familiar name of \"Mechatronics'.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In summary, the law stipulates that companies already operating with one of the two abolished qualifications must adapt by 1 January 2018, acquiring the new Mechatronics qualification through specific mandatory regional training courses of forty hours.<\/p>\n

In the case of the lack of such a licence, the law provides for the automatic cessation of the activity.<\/p>\n

However, we would like to remind you of some variants that we anticipated:<\/p>\n

-If, on 05\/01\/2013, you were already registered in the two sections, Mechanic and Electrician, the company will automatically take the name of Mechatronics<\/p>\n

-Those who, on 05\/01\/2013, had reached the age of 55 may continue their activity without any changes<\/p>\n

NEW WORKSHOPS<\/b><\/p>\n

To start a new business, the technical manager must meet one of the following requirements:<\/p>\n

-diploma in Mechanical and Automotive Industries Operator plus one year in the last five years in the direct employment of a mechanical\/motor vehicle company<\/p>\n

-regional course for both mechanical\/engineering and electrician's trade plus one year in the last five years in the direct employment of a mechanical\/engineering and electrician's trade<\/p>\n

-professional baccalaureate diploma as mechanical engineering technician<\/p>\n

-degree in mechanical\/chemical\/aeronautical\/physical engineering<\/p>\n

The technical manager must have one of the following technical and professional requirements:<\/p>\n

a) educational qualification (exclusively cultural requirements) - university degree or diploma in a technical subject relevant to the activity; - secondary school diploma in a technical subject relevant to the activity;<\/p>\n

b) educational qualification and professional experience (mixed requirements) - certificate of promotion to the 4th year of the Industrial Technical Institute, with address relevant to the activity, and a period of at least one year's car repair activity in companies operating in the sector over the last five years; - regional theoretical-practical qualification course relevant to the activity and a period of at least one year's car repair activity in companies operating in the sector over the last five years.<\/p>\n

Bodywork and tyre specialists are not covered by the legal adjustment.<\/p>\n

Washing, refuelling, replacing the air filter, oil filter, lubricating oil and other lubricating or cooling liquids, and ordinary and minor maintenance and repair work, which must in any case be carried out in compliance with the regulations in force on the protection of air pollution and waste disposal, do not fall within the scope of car repair in general.<\/p>\n
